EBOS Group is publicly listed on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges. About the role EBOS MedTech is seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel into this growing business division . The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice to the MedTech business across Australia and New Zealand and will have the opportunity to work alongside the relevant Southeast Asia legal team. Reporting to the General Manager, Legal, Risk and Compliance for EBOS MedTech, you will also be engaging regularly with Group General Counsel, the Executive and senior business stakeholders. You will join a close knit in-house legal team that works collaboratively to provide a responsive and effective legal service across the business. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will guide the MedTech business through a broad range of matters in a way that strikes an appropriate balance between achieving commercial objectives and sensibly managing legal risk. The work will be varied and requires a lawyer who is happy to roll up their sleeves and contribute. This Senior Legal Counsel position will also involve providing strategic legal support and advice at EBOS Group level in relation to M&A and corporate law matters. Overall, you will provide broad, strategic M&A and commercial law advice , including in relation to corporate transactions, commercial contracts, consumer and competition law, intellectual property, advertising and marketing and regulatory matters. About you You are a corporate/M&A lawyer at Senior Associate level in a well-known law firm or equivalent level in-house. For those in private practice, prior in-house or secondment experience will be highly regarded. M&A experience is essential as this will be the initial focus of the role, as is the ability to liaise confidently across the business including at Executive level. You are an independent individual who enjoys a high-level of responsibility and autonomy and brings a commercial outlook. This is a fast-faced, high growth commercial environment so the role suits a lawyer with outstanding interpersonal skills, a “can do” approach and the ability to juggle a range of priorities.
