Purpose As the Business Development Manager – MICE, you will be responsible for the proactive development of new Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events business across a portfolio of key M&E focused properties. Working closely with General Managers, Directors of Sales and regional commercial teams, this role will drive strategic pipeline growth, identify new revenue opportunities and strengthen Accor’s presence within the MICE segment. You will lead business development initiatives that increase market share, build strong industry relationships and support portfolio performance through targeted sales activity and commercial insight. This role is based in Sydney or Gold Coast with a hybrid working style, with the opportunity to work between corporate office and occasionally from home. Primary Responsibilities Drive proactive business development activity across a portfolio of priority MICE properties, focusing on new revenue generation and pipeline growth. Identify, target and convert new Meetings & Events opportunities aligned to portfolio commercial strategies. Work closely with property Directors of Sales and General Managers to support business mix optimisation and deliver against MICE revenue targets. Represent the portfolio at industry trade shows, client events and sales missions to strengthen brand presence and generate qualified leads. Collaborate with marketing teams to support MICE campaigns, promotions and lead generation initiatives. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and demand patterns to identify new opportunities and inform sales strategies. Provide regular pipeline updates, performance insights and actionable recommendations to the Director of Sales and wider commercial leadership team. Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: At least 3yrs experience in proactive sales or business development within the MICE, hospitality or travel sector. Strong understanding of the Meetings & Events landscape, including agency, corporate and association segments. Ability to build relationships quickly and influence stakeholders across a multi-property portfolio. Commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities that drive revenue and optimise business mix. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. High level of organisation, self-motivation and ability to work autonomously while contributing to a broader commercial strategy.
