Amazon Australia’s payments business needs an experienced Business Developer and Account Manager to help us grow existing and new partnerships. As a Business Development Manager, you will support the growth of the APAC payments business by managing existing partnerships and driving performance across fintechs, banks, and travel/hospitality companies. You will work alongside senior Business Development Managers, supporting larger strategic partnerships while independently managing smaller-scale deals and promotional funding initiatives. To achieve success, you must have experience influencing internal and external partners, driving cross-team coordination, along with a basic knowledge of technology. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: a) business development; b) partner management, including assessing program metrics; c) credit card, BNPL or rewards program management, including running partnership program, creating measurement and success metrics and optimizing performance with partners Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have successful personal attributes including strong ownership, creativity, leadership, earning trust in relationships, and ability to influence outcomes both internally and externally. Key job responsibilities As a Business Development Manager with Amazon Australia Payments, your key responsibilities will include: - Managing and optimising existing partnerships, including preparing Quaterly Business Review (QBR) documents, meeting plans, and performance reporting to drive partner engagement and retention - Supporting senior Business Development Managers on larger strategic partnerships by managing day-to-day partner relationships and operational execution - Driving promotional funding initiatives with partners and identifying opportunities to increase promotional investment - Monitoring performance of existing partnership deals, driving internal data analysis and reporting to inform growth strategies - Sourcing, negotiating and signing deals with partners across APAC - Creating a business development plan in support of the product vision and delivery timeline and work closely with internal product teams - Defining key partnership deal terms with business, legal, and technical teams - Building critical relationships across the industry - Driving customer retention and growth through partnership optimisation - Building and Leveraging established relationships across Amazon to drive payments growth - Payments processing and acquiring knowledge, experience negotiating merchant payment contracts across pricing constructs and terms A day in the life Your day will balance hands-on account management with partnership growth. You'll prepare QBR documents and meeting materials for key partners, analyse performance data to identify optimisation opportunities, and manage day-to-day relationships with banking and fintech partners. You'll support senior BDMs on larger strategic deals while independently driving promotional funding conversations and smaller-scale partnerships.
