This role is a 12‑month maternity leave cover max term, with an end date of 31 March 2027 As a Manager, Controls Oversight in the Consumer COO, you’ll provide independent oversight, insight, and challenge over how risks, controls, and obligations are managed across the Division. Working within the Value Chain and Controls Management team, you’ll support the execution of the Controls Strategy from an oversight perspective, setting expectations and partnering with Lines of Business and Business Units to monitor, assess, and uplift control design and performance across end‑to‑end value chains. A key focus of the role is applying a data, analytics, and technology lens to controls oversight using insights, dashboards, and automation to identify themes, control gaps, and opportunities to move away from manual or ineffective controls. You’ll deliver outcomes safely by strengthening governance and control discipline, make an impact by providing evidence‑based insights to senior forums, and own outcomes by driving practical recommendations to address control weaknesses, issues, and emerging risks. This is a max term fulltime Sydney or Melbourne based role with flexible working arrangements (3 days in office). What do I need? Experience in Business Controls & Monitoring, operational risk, or controls oversight within banking or financial services Hands‑on or strong working exposure to Alteryx essential - ability to build and design automated controls through this technology Strong understanding of control design, effectiveness, testing, and quality assurance, with an oversight and challenge mindset A data and technology‑enabled approach to controls oversight, including experience using tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Copilot, or similar analytics platforms Ability to apply risk and compliance requirements through an analytical lens to identify themes, gaps, and uplift opportunities Experience delivering clear control insights and reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forums Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence business and technology teams to improve control outcomes Why join us?
