A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead complex structural projects and strengthen its South Australian business. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and team development, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality engineering outcomes and expanding capability across the business. The role: The Principal Structural Engineer will provide senior technical expertise across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and Defence projects. You will lead design delivery, oversee multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and play a key role in client relationship management and business growth. Key responsibilities: Lead and deliver complex structural designs and technical solutions Provide technical governance, review, and sign-off of engineering deliverables Guide and mentor engineers to build technical capability and leadership capacity Engage with clients, develop relationships, and support business development Contribute to strategic growth and technical direction of the SA business Technical skills: Proficiency in ETABS, RAPT, RAM, SpaceGass and structural analysis/design tools Strong understanding of Australian Standards and consulting engineering practices About you: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Chartered with Engineers Australia (highly regarded) 7 years’ experience in consulting engineering Clear, concise verbal and written communication with strong client facing capability What’s on offer: Senior technical and leadership role with influence over project delivery and strategy Exposure to complex, high-value projects Career progression to senior leadership within the business
