Why This Role Stands Out Lead and mentor a talented team of engineers and designers Influence technical direction and business growth Work across diverse mining, resources, and infrastructure projects Blend hands-on technical work with leadership and strategy (approx. 60% technical / 40% leadership) Be empowered to modernise systems using digital tools, Power BI, and innovative design approaches Join a collaborative leadership team committed to excellence and growth What You’ll Be Doing Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage the Civil/Structural discipline across studies, design, and execution Mentor, develop, and grow a high-performing engineering team Forecast workloads, manage resources, and ensure successful project delivery Drive business development, contribute to proposals, and expand client relationships Play a key role in shaping the future and growth of the civil department Technical Excellence Deliver civil and structural design solutions across mining and infrastructure projects Provide expertise in areas such as hydrology, drainage, pavements, and heavy infrastructure Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and operability studies Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and client requirements Support procurement, commissioning, and site-based activities as required Client & Commercial Focus Build and maintain strong client relationships Provide technical and commercial guidance across projects Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and project performance What You Bring Essential: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ accreditation 10 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams Strong technical background in mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills Highly Regarded: Business development and proposal experience Experience with ProjectWise or similar digital engineering platforms Interest in digital transformation and modern engineering tools This is more than just a leadership role, it’s an opportunity to: Influence business direction and technical standards Lead meaningful projects across Australia’s resource sector Build and shape a growing civil engineering team Join a company that values innovation, leadership, and long-term career growth Apply now to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact.
