Gold Coast QLD or Hunter / Newcastle NSW ⏱️ Permanent Full Time | Hybrid flexibility Competitive salary bonus opportunity Our Opportunity Pacific Smiles Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy and compliance of financial reporting across the Group. This is a new position due to continued company growth and expansion! Working closely with the Senior Finance leadership team, this role supports the delivery of timely, accurate financial information and insights that enable strong business decision-making and statutory compliance. This position is well suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys owning financial processes, improving systems and partnering with stakeholders across a growing organisation. The role can be based in either our Gold Coast or Hunter / Newcastle office, with hybrid working flexibility available (this is not a fully remote working position). What You’ll Be Doing Financial Accounting & Month-End Reporting Oversee and ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities Review and finalise the balance sheet reconciliations to subsidiary ledgers with supporting documentation in line with Group policies Lead the month-end close process , including ensuring all accruals, journals and adjustments are captured accurately Maintain key financial registers including prepayments, credit cards and fixed assets Manage lease accounting in accordance with AASB16 Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting and board commentary Identify and implement process improvements within financial reporting and controls Statutory Compliance & Audit Support Fringe Benefits Tax and annual income tax obligations Lead preparation of supporting documentation for half-year and annual external audits Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory and reporting requirements Business Partnering & Financial Analysis Support financial analysis, reporting and insights to assist operational decision-making Investigate financial and budget variances and provide recommendations Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and guidance Systems & Process Improvement Support the ongoing development and documentation of finance policies and procedures Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting processes and data integrity Assist with finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives About You We are looking for a technically strong accountant with a proactive mindset who enjoys improving processes and contributing to a collaborative finance team. You will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce CPA or CA qualification completed 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or a similar role Strong experience with general ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting Experience working in a medium to large organisation (1000 employees) Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory compliance Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability Highly regarded: Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Pronto, SAP, Oracle) Exposure to Power BI or financial reporting tools Why Join Pacific Smiles Group?
