The Role We’re looking for a Perth‑based Senior Desktop Support Engineer (IT Services Engineer) who’s a strong technical generalist with solid experience across Active Directory, Intune, and windows support. This is not a traditional desktop support engineer role. You’ll be supporting a portfolio of clients in an MSP environment, providing L1/L2 technical support while also identifying improvement opportunities and building long-term relationships. This person must have the ability to learn, be commercially aware, comfortable meeting billable targets, and able to work autonomously while still collaborating with the wider team. They enjoy a mix of remote and onsite work and thrive in a client‑facing, consultancy‑driven environment. Your key responsibilities: You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our client’s IT infrastructure. Be involved in key IT projects, managing smaller projects on your own. Maintain ownership of IT incidents and escalations. Communication with customers to identify pain points across their infrastructure. Identifying gaps or issues within the customers' IT environments. Work with senior consultants and account management staff to ensure effective management of the clients. Skills you need to be successful in the role: Prior experience in a managed service provider/IT service provider or consulting organisation (or similar), providing a wide range of IT support. Minimum of 3 years' experience providing support across of a broad range of IT infrastructure including desktops, servers, networking, cloud, mobile devices and storage. Sound working knowledge of Hypervisor platforms such as including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere. Sound working knowledge of hardware platforms including HPE, DELL, IBM, Lenovo, Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Fortinet and Sophos. Hands‑on implementation and troubleshooting experience with cloud platforms especially Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune (AWS, Google, or Mimecast experience is a bonus). Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer centric mindset.
