Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and creative Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals that complement our specialty coffee offerings, ensuring consistency, innovation, and excellence across the menu. This role is central to maintaining the café’s reputation for artisan food and a welcoming customer experience. The position requires a motivated professional who can manage kitchen operations, design seasonal menus, and uphold strict food safety standards. Working closely with café management and staff, the Chef will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences while supporting the growth and success. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee the preparation and cooking of food in the café kitchen.Design and develop menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order supplies to ensure efficient operations.Prepare, season, and cook dishes to maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards.Monitor the quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation, ensuring customer satisfaction.Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on procedures to maintain high standards.Coordinate and supervise kitchen operations, including rostering and workflow management.Implement and monitor workplace health, safety, and hygiene regulations in compliance with Australian standards.Select, train, and mentor kitchen staff and apprentices to build a skilled and motivated team.Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and kitchen budgets to optimize resources.Collaborate with café management to align food offerings with brand identity and customer expectations. Requirements Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent recognised qualification). Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef in a café or restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques, menu development, and food presentation. Experience in managing kitchen operations, including stock control and supplier coordination. Solid understanding of Australian food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards. Creativity and passion for pairing food with specialty coffee offerings. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. What We Offer Competitive salary package of $75,000 – $90,000 per annum. Full-time permanent position with stable employment conditions.
