You will work collaboratively with internal teams, including software engineers, testing and commissioning and project managers, to contribute to the successful delivery of projects. How will you make a difference? The purpose of the Communications and Electrical Engineer is to support the design, development and testing of rail infrastructure communications systems and solutions for clients. In addition, you will use your technical expertise and cognitive skills to analyze requirements, design and develop solutions, and test and troubleshoot systems to ensure the clients needs and specifications are met. What will your typical day look like? Support in delivering various infrastructure project communications systems’ operation and configuration (Data Networks, Digital Radio systems, CCTV, Public Address systems, Passenger Information Display Systems, RTU, UPS, Access Control / Intrusion Detection) by conducting implementation, testing and commissioning activities on site. Assist in developing post-AFC electrical and communications systems design documentation. Coordinate project subcontractors to align with the project program and access requirements. Work with the design team by supporting design assurance activities in accordance with established requirements and requirement management tool/s. Support the project management team to achieve contractual goals. Assist the engineering and procurement functions with the ordering of materials and services. Liaise with the Project Document Controller and engineering functions to assist in delivering compliant and timely submissions. You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor’s degree in electrical / electronic engineering (or equivalent experience). 5 years of experience in communications / electrical solutions delivery in (rail) infrastructure projects industry. Hands-on experience with infrastructure project communications systems’ operation and configuration (TETRA and other Digital Radio systems, Data Networks, CCTV, Public Address systems, Passenger Information Display Systems, RTU, UPS, Access Control / Intrusion Detection). Ability to assist design and review communications & electrical diagrams / circuits for specific applications using software. Ability to execute tests as per the Test & Commissioning Plans and Procedures. Ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documentation. Effective communication skills to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
