A role has become available for a hardworking and talented cook to work with one of the aged care industries most progressive and evolving not for profits - Scalabrini Communities THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced cook who is committed to quality, safety, and customer service excellence for our Allambie Heights Village. Our cooks are responsible for the preparation of a full range of high-quality food offerings for residents, their families and the customers of the Village. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Please note that none of these requirements are set in stone, as we offer excellent on-the-job training. If you’re hardworking, passionate about food and you want to make a genuine difference to the lives of people, then we want to hear from you. That said, the following criteria would certainly be looked upon favourably: Previous experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care or health services environment Knowledge of the NSW Food Safety Act and HACCP Principles Knowledge of WHS and infection control principles Good communication skills and a strong commitment to excellent customer service Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, positive team environment Basic computer literacy Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification/experience The ability to speak Italian or other languages would be great, but is not an expectationIf this sounds like you, apply now!The successful applicant will need to meet the requirements of a Criminal History Check as per the Aged Care Act 1997.
