The Senior Mechanical Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading design packages, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across multidisciplinary coordination. You’ll contribute to shaping projects that influence Melbourne’s built environment for decades to come. What You’ll Do In this senior role, you will: Lead small to medium‑scale mechanical building services projects from concept through delivery Produce and review mechanical design documentation to industry, commercial, and regulatory standards Oversee design coordination across multidisciplinary teams Support project planning to meet budget, scope, and program requirements Undertake site inspections and ensure designs translate seamlessly to installation Build strong client relationships and contribute to repeat business Mentor, guide and upskill junior and intermediate engineers Contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement across the Mechanical discipline About You You will bring: 6–10 years experience in mechanical building services engineering A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Strong design capability across HVAC, ventilation, heating and associated systems Experience working within Australian building services consultancies Familiarity across multiple sectors (commercial, healthcare, education, labs, defence, aviation etc.) Working knowledge of the BCA, NCC and relevant Australian Standards Ability to lead small projects and coordinate with all building services disciplines Strong communication skills and the ability to present confidently to clients and stakeholders Registration or eligibility for relevant state engineering registers (advantageous) Experience using design tools such as CAMEL, Revit MEP, NavisWorks (highly regarded) Why Join Us Hybrid work model — 2 days WFH flexible hours Extra purchased leave generous parental leave Salary Continuation Insurance Employee Share Purchase Plan Social club, wellness initiatives & corporate discounts National and global mobility opportunities Supportive, diverse and inclusive team culture Before we jump into the responsibilities of the role.
