The Role This is a senior specialist opportunity for a commercially astute professional who can go well beyond maintaining asset registers. You will play a key role in optimising multi-million-dollar technology investments, providing financial insight, forecasting, and value-for-money analysis across WaterNSW’s digital asset and contract portfolio. The role demands strong capability in financial planning, cost trend analysis, renewal forecasting, and commercial risk management, combined with a deep understanding of ICT asset lifecycles and vendor contracts. You will partner closely with Finance, Procurement, and Technology leaders to shape renewal strategies, challenge cost drivers, and inform strategic sourcing and investment decisions. This role is ideal for candidates who are confident turning asset and contract data into executive-level insight and influencing outcomes—rather than simply maintaining systems or registers. You will be trusted to provide specialist advice, identify optimisation opportunities, and ensure technology assets deliver sustainable value across their full lifecycle. What We Are Looking For Tertiary qualifications in Business, Procurement, IT, or related discipline. Understanding of ICT hardware and software lifecycle. Familiarity with procurement processes, compliance requirements, and reporting. Demonstrated experience in Information and Communications technology specifically regarding contract management including procurement, negotiation and ongoing contract management. Extensive relationship management skills demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively provide high quality customer service, vendor management and high-level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing vendor relationships. Demonstrated understanding of ICT hardware and software lifecycle and licencing. Strong analytical and financial skills.
