Community Corrections collaborates with other agencies and community partners and seeks to restore people’s dignity to promote agency and self-determination and to enable reintegration. Your role As an Aboriginal Community Engagement & Culture Officer, you will provide advice and support to Community Corrections in the case management of identified offender groups in a culturally sensitive manner and ensure appropriate case plans and supervision is implemented consistent with CSNSW mission of reduction of re-offending. You will also identify and build collaborative community networks and partnerships to improve the effectiveness of community program and services for identified people on supervised orders. In this role, you will: Build community connection Work collaboratively with community organisations, networks and partnerships to improve the opportunities for identified people on supervised orders. Connect with services Liaise with community services / agencies especially those providing services to identified communities to promote positive client outcomes. Cultural knowledge to build competency of staff Work with staff to build cultural competency. Case management Provide cultural advice and guidance to Community Corrections staff on the scope of culturally appropriate interventions, information on community and kinship networks, and insights into barriers of Community Corrections to engage effectively with First Nations clients.
