Full-Time Joiner position available in Leichhardt, NSW 2040. Maximus Construction & Labour Pty Ltd is a growing construction company delivering a broad range of building services across Sydney. Our projects span residential and commercial developments, including new builds, extensions, refurbishments, remedial works and general structural and external works. We manage projects from initial site preparation through to final finishes, coordinating a variety of trades to achieve high-quality outcomes for our clients. We are currently seeking a Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be experienced in manufacturing, assembling and installing timber components and joinery projects. Working alongside other trades across multiple sites, this role plays an important part in delivering construction and fit-out works safely, efficiently and to specification. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Interpret architectural drawings, joinery shop drawings and job specifications to plan joinery works, confirm site measurements, and identify required materials, hardware and finishes. Set out and measure components accurately; mark, cut and shape timber and manufactured boards (e.g., MDF, plywood, laminated panels) using hand and power tools to required tolerances. Manufacture joinery components by forming joints, rebates, housings and grooves; prepare parts using templates, jigs and clamps to ensure consistency and fit. Assemble joinery items such as cabinets, benchtops, shelving, door and window frames, counters and internal fit-out components using adhesives and mechanical fasteners. Install and fit manufactured joinery on site, including cabinetry, benchtops, shelving and door/window frames; scribe, level, align and adjust components for correct clearances and smooth operation. Fit and adjust hardware and fittings (hinges, handles, locks, runners, brackets and closers) to ensure safe, secure and compliant operation. Carry out finishing work as required, including sanding, trimming, edge finishing, sealing and preparing surfaces for painting, laminates or other coatings. Repair, modify or replace damaged joinery and timber fixtures, including re-hanging doors, replacing hardware and rectifying alignment or fit issues. Maintain a safe, tidy and efficient workshop and site environment; follow WHS procedures, use PPE, and operate tools and equipment safely. Coordinate with supervisors, site managers and other trades to sequence installations, resolve site variations, and meet project timeframes. Complete job documentation including measurements, material usage, quality checks, variations and completion notes in accordance with company procedures. Qualifications and Skills: Certificate III in Joinery, Carpentry, or a related trade qualification (or at least three years of relevant work experience) A minimum of one years' experience in a similar joinery role. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients. Physical strength and stamina to handle materials and undertake manual tasks on site and in a workshop environment. Ability to read and interpret drawings, take accurate measurements and work to tight tolerances. Competence using a range of hand and power tools safely, including cutting, shaping and finishing equipment. Strong attention to detail and workmanship to produce high-quality joinery and finishes. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $76,515 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
