Client Our client is an industry agricultural research and extension organisation in southern NSW owned by growers and involving advisers and researchers. Their main objective is to coordinate and communicate private, public and grower group-funded research and development activities within the region. They are now seeking a research and extension officer to join the RD&E team and help drive the development of innovative programs. Role Responsibilities The Research and Extension Officer will undertake a range of activities to support research, development and extension projects and assist in the delivery of events and communication activities. The research component of the role includes project concept development, planning, resourcing and management; in-field implementation of soil, plant (crop and pasture) and livestock projects; data capture and analysis and authoring high-quality research reports. Integration of a range of extension activities, including workshops, seminars, and field walks into each project, together with translating research outcomes into extension reports tailored to members, partners and the broader agricultural community. Requirements Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science or equivalent; Crop/pasture field trial establishment, data collection and analysis; Livestock trial establishment, data collection and analysis; Grain, livestock and/or mixed farming activities; Stakeholder engagement and extension; Research report writing and presentation skills; Project management experience is desirable.
