Job Title: Senior Advisor, Family Health and Wellbeing Location: Collingwood, VIC (Hybrid Work Model) Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed-term (until November 2026) with the possibility of an extension Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 (depending on experience) super NFP salary packaging About VACCHO VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria. We have 34 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 65,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the role This is a parental leave cover role ending in November 2026, however there may be the possibility of an extension. In this Senior Advisor role, the focus is on social and emotional wellbeing while being responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of ethical frameworks, monitoring approaches, and effective knowledge translation to support the implementation of key projects within the Aboriginal Families Wellbeing Portfolio, and within the larger unit more broadly. You will have a strong commitment to the principles of decolonisation, Aboriginal self-determination, and ethical practice to ensure that all work and engagements within these portfolios respects and integrates Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and is responsive to Community aspirations. You will use your expertise and stakeholder engagement skills to build and maintain respectful relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure projects are community-led and reflect the aspirations of Aboriginal families, while positively navigating rapidly shifting priorities. Essential skills/experiences To be successful in this role, you will be a competent and confident Senior Advisor. You will have sound judgement, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and strong communication skills. You will be able to Demonstrate your understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander family health and wellbeing and will have experience working with Communities Strong inter-personal and stakeholder relationship management skills are essential. You will be highly adaptable, comfortable working with ambiguity, and confident about providing advice.
