YHA Brisbane City is a 380-bed property located in the heart of the city providing comfortable and affordable accommodation and experiences to groups and independent travellers from around the world. This modern property offers a range of private and co-living accommodation rooms as well as an onsite cafe, rooftop pool and bar, co-working space, and wellness centre. Our crew of approximately 50 passionate and hardworking team members pride themselves on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests and each other. About the role: YHA is on the lookout for a full-time Duty Manager (or Shift Manager as we call them internally) to become part of the team at Brisbane. The role entails managing the property's daily operations, supervising team members, and providing primary support. As an integral member of the collective, you will help manage and operate YHA, gaining valuable experience and growth opportunities within a team of skilled and enjoyable colleagues. This is a great opportunity to step up to the next level in your career. You could be a Senior Receptionist, Guest Services, Concierge, or Front Office attendant position or from any other team leadership experience, we are open to training you. What your day will look like: Working with and collaborating with all departments to support the smooth running of the property Promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and ensuring the property is presented to the highest standards Supervising team members on shift and ensuring they are supported, well trained and motivated Ensuring events and group activities are promoted and enjoyed by guests Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure events, groups and individual travellers experience with us is memorable for all the right reasons What are we looking for: Experience in an accommodation environment - Front desk, reception, duty manager or similar Ideally you will have, or be willing to get, a Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate as well as First Aid & CPR Certification Flexible availability A passion for developing and leading fun, engaged and professional teams Our Values Our values are at the heart of our organisation and the foundation of our culture.
