About the Role Contract Resources is preparing for a major refinery shutdown in Lytton, QLD in 2026 and is seeking experienced and safety-focused High Pressure Water (HPW) Operators and Assistants to join our shutdown team. HPW Operators and Assistants play a critical role in supporting specialised industrial cleaning services during shutdown operations. Working in a fast-paced refinery environment, you will assist with high pressure water blasting, tank cleaning, confined space work, and other specialised cleaning scopes to ensure shutdown activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who thrive in high-performing teams and are committed to maintaining strong safety standards in high-risk environments. This opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking shutdown work without FIFO travel, allowing you to be home each night. Mobilisation for this project is scheduled to commence in April 2026 and will continue through to project completion. Duties will include but are not limited to Manual High Pressure Water Blasting Tank head cleaning and in-situ industrial cleaning activities High Pressure Water Cold Cutting Wash pad water blasting and industrial cleaning tasks Assisting with confined space entry activities and performing sentry/standby duties Operating and driving vacuum trucks (where applicable) General labouring and manual handling duties Supporting HPW Operators and other crews across multiple shutdown work fronts Strict adherence to Work Health & Safety procedures, including participation in JSAs, SWMS, Take 5s and other safety documentation Identifying hazards, reporting risks, and contributing to a proactive safety culture Working collaboratively with supervisors, operators and site personnel to meet shutdown schedules Requirements & Experience Needed MSMSS00018 – Operate High Pressure Water Jetting System OR MSMSS00017 – Use High Pressure Water Jetting (essential) Experience working within Oil & Gas or refinery environments (highly desirable) Ability to work shift work including days, nights and weekends Live within a 60 km radius of Lytton, QLD Construction White Card (essential) Working at Heights (within 2 years – essential) Confined Space Entry (within 2 years – essential) Gas Test Atmosphere (within 2 years – essential) Breathing Apparatus (highly desirable) Vacuum Loading Operations (desirable) Current Driver’s Licence (HR/HC/MC highly desirable) High Risk Work Licence – LF / Dogman / Rigger (advantageous) Full Australian work rights How to Apply If you are seeking a challenging and rewarding shutdown opportunity with a dynamic and growing organisation, please select the ‘Apply Now’ button to submit your application.
