The Opportunity The Child Disability team at The Kids Research Institute Australia is committed to improving the health and quality of life for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. They team works to address modifiable determinants of health and quality of life, and to understand how impacts can be reliably measured and translated into policy and practice. They use multiple methods including qualitative, linked data, survey and clinical trials to achieve their aims. Currently, there are projects that involve collecting qualitative and survey data, measurement science, analysis and evaluations. These projects form part of a larger program of research supporting the National Roadmap for Improving the Health of People with Intellectual Disability, improving equity in health care and community involvement to enable children with intellectual disability and/or rare diseases and their families to thrive and research that bridges re the gap between evidence and practice in the child disability sector. The Child Disability team is now looking to appoint a Research Officer (to support its growing program of research). This position offers and excellent opportunity for an early career researcher who is passionate about improving the lives of children with disability and their families, and eager to further develop their skills within a world class research environment. Some of the responsibilities will include: Developing research protocols and ethics applications. Conducting literature and policy reviews. Collecting, managing, and analysing quantitative and qualitative data. Contributing to research reports, scientific publications, and conference presentations. Assisting with the preparation of grants applications and research proposals. Supporting engagement with stakeholders and community partners involved in research. Based at our Nedlands offices, this is a part-time role, 0.6 – 0.8 FTE (full-time will be considered), in an ongoing capacity. About You To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the following: PhD in a health science or related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of research processes including ethics applications, writing scientifically and data management. Enthusiasm to be on a trajectory of growth and development of research skills. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing research data and study processes. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate well within a team environment.
