Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geoscientist to join our team in our Perth office. You will work with a diverse and growing team of scientists and engineers whose skills encompass environmental chemistry, geochemistry, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, civil design and project management, servicing mining, with a strong focus on tailings management. Undertake environmental geoscience (geochemical and hydrochemical) investigations and independent reviews, noting in this role that the following is expected: Maintain a high professional standard. Exercise professional judgement, applying knowledge appropriately. Comply with relevant jurisdictional legislation and guidelines. Act with due care and diligence. Provide senior level technical direction and quality reviews of data and reports received from clients and produced by the Geosyntec team, this may include global not just local teams. Assist with scoping and management of projects with a range of complexity and scale. Assist with writing assessment reports, management plans and proposals/ tender/ panel submissions (if required). Liaise and proactively communicate with clients, technical partners and Geosyntec staff. Contribute (via technical involvement) in identifying opportunities and assist in maintaining a pipeline of geochemical and hydrochemical work focusing on our key sectors (predominantly but not limited to mining). Leverage existing relationships within the industry to develop new opportunities. Assist with retaining, developing and attracting talent to achieve growth, technical excellence in environmental geoscience discipline, excellence in client delivery and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing that generates long ‐ term learning and development of capability. Continue to build Geosyntec brand which includes supporting people, client, operational and health/ safety initiatives. Champion innovation in everything we do. Tertiary qualifications in geoscience (geology/oceanography/hydrogeology/applied science) relevant Masters, MPhil or PhD or related discipline will be highly regarded. Post doctoral experience is also highly regarded. Essential skills for the role are: 7 to 10 years' experience in related field Strong knowledge of geological and ore forming processes Strong knowledge of hydrochemical processes and interpretation of multi lixiviant leach tests Demonstrate good reporting writing skills with an academic publication record Consulting experience preferred, with understanding of stakeholder engagement, business development and project management. Relevant professional membership Be an Australian citizen Have a willingness to travel interstate and abroad Highly regarded skills and experience: Good statistical analytical knowledge – IoGas, R or other package experience Geochemical modelling experience Experience in environmental risk assessment Experience in the application of geochemistry in the context of ANCOLD and GISTM standards
