This is your opportunity to join a small, dynamic team of Policy Officers to support Resources Safety and Health Queensland's (RSHQ's) vision of Zero Serious Harm in the resources sector. In this role you will contribute to and be part of a small team of motivated professionals with a passion for safety and health regulation in the resources sector. Reporting to a Manager, you will play a key role in supporting RSHQ's Executive Leadership Team deliver on RSHQ's objectives, including its strategic plan. Working across a diverse range of policy issues and legislation, you will be equipped to excel in this role if you have a strong background in policy and legislation, a solutions-focused approach, great team skills, and a positive attitude. The team provides policy advice and develops legislation across the agency on a broad range of matters. This includes interpreting complex legislation and working with coal, mineral mines, petroleum and gas, and explosives inspectorates to identify policy issues and recommend innovative options to resolve them. Help reduce the rates of serious accidents and fatalities using a risk-based data driven approach.
