About The Role Mount Pleasant Operation located in the Hunter Valley Region, NSW is looking for an experienced Shot Firer to join the blast crew working a 5/4 Lifestyle 11 hour day shift roster. Reporting to the Supervisor, Drill and Blast, as our next Shotfirer this position will see you fundamentally contributing to the success of the blasting team on site. In this role, you will: Day to day field operations, including blasting targets are met A safe and healthy workplace for all employees is maintained Community and Environmental compliance objectives are adhered to Transport and Delivery of dangerous goods is safely conducted Housekeeping in magazines, magazine compound, explosive vehicles and work areas are kept to high level About You A Current NSW Security Clearance (UHL) and Shotfiring Blasting Explosives Users Licence (EUL) for Open Cut Coal Mining Experience in Shotfiring operations using electronic initiation systems Operational experience in Mobile Processing Units (desirable) Experience in stock management and bulk material loading Collaborative communication sills Ability to work in a fluid/dynamic environment as part of an adaptive team Self-driven and able to work autonomously in the field What Thiess Can Do For You Permanent full-time positions Thiess’ commitment to training & development Salary sacrifice options – Novated leasing Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.
