The Department for Child Protection is looking for a Financial Compliance Accountant who will be based in the Adelaide CBD and will support the delivery of high-quality financial services. The role will contribute to these services by ensuring compliance through sound financial management and reporting. The role assists with the coordination of year-end financial statements and audit processes, as well as leading business improvement projects, developing policies and procedures, and supervising team members to ensure performance requirements are met. In this role, you will: Assist with complex financial management processes, ensuring the department meets required deadlines Lead the delivery of financial functions and internal controls Oversee the effective management of financial systems and processes Contribute to the development and implementation of effective financial services by providing training and promoting compliance Lead business process reviews and projects to ensure continuous improvement outcomes. To be successful: You will have experience in delivering a range of centralised finance functions and services within a large and complex work environment. The role requires someone who has sound knowledge in accounting standards, government requirements and the ability to develop high-level strategies that ensure the continuous improvement of financial systems and compliance. In addition to a strong background in finance, you will also have proven high-level communication skills, with demonstrated ability to negotiate, consult and manage multiple external stakeholders. You will also be able to provide expert advice, in order to present clear and concise information with regards to reporting, recommendations and policies.
