About the role As an Insurance Business Analyst , you will make an impact by partnering with insurance clients to define business needs, shape solution requirements, and support the delivery of complex transformation initiatives. You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting's Insurance practice, working closely with clients, consulting teams, and technology specialists to translate business objectives into clear, actionable outcomes. In this role, you will: Lead business analysis activities across insurance programs, gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements Collaborate with insurance stakeholders to assess scope, complexity, and effort across initiatives Produce high-quality requirements artefacts including business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories Support digital and transformation initiatives focused on customer experience, operational efficiency, and data-driven insights Contribute to insurance consulting offerings, best practices, and thought leadership across the practice Work model We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. What you must have to be considered: Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry (P&C, Life, or related domains) Experience with insurance platforms including Guidewire, Duck Creek, OIPA , or similar core systems Strong capability in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies Confidence operating in client-facing environments with business and technology stakeholders Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills These will help you succeed: Experience supporting insurance digital initiatives such as customer experience transformation, analytics, automation, or platform modernisation Understanding of technology trends such as cloud, data & analytics, automation, and AI within insurance Consulting mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, IT, or insurance; industry certifications are an advantage We're excited to meet people who share our passion for consulting and making an impact.
