The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join our Corporate Development team on an 18 month fixed term contract covering parental leave. Reporting to the Budget and Commercial Analysis Manager, you won’t just be crunching numbers, you’ll be developing meaningful financial models that provide the roadmap for our retail business. In this role, you will be the bridge between complex data and strategic decision-making. Your core mission includes: Support the delivery of the annual budget, Corporate Plan, and quarterly forecasts. You will be directly involved in revenue forecasting and customer-level projections to ensure our financial targets are hit. Take a deep dive into electricity and gas gross margins, providing the business with visibility on profitability and commercial performance. Adapting to the complex and changing energy industry to provide projections, and conduct analysis on the financial implications of changes to key business metrics against budget. Partner with internal stakeholders to build business cases, assess project benefits, and conduct post-implementation reviews to see how actual performance stacks up against your assumptions. Keep us ahead of the curve by providing competitor benchmarking and industry analysis to support our market positioning. Translate complex financial implications of non-financial data for your "internal customers," driving awareness of our commercial levers across the Retail group. Assisting in reviewing implemented projects to gain insights and make judgements on performance and accurate data You will ideally have: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business. Experience in commercial advisory, business modelling, or accounting Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL queries. Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is a major plus! Prior experience within the energy sector. A high level of attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex terminology into actionable insights.
