The Store Person Grade 2 has proven and demonstrated skills (including as appropriate, appropriate certification) to the level required of this grade and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of specific site for DWDSS operations. This position provides crucial support to the efficient operation of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching Defence equipment, supplies, and materials. Working under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Store Person Grade 2 ensures that all tasks are performed in compliance with DWDSS contractual requirements, Defence regulations, safety protocols, and operational standards. The role requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. ACCOUNTABILITIES Skills/duties (a) Able to understand detailed instructions and work from procedures. (d) Able to co-ordinate work in a team environment under limited supervision. (e) Responsible for quality of their own work. (f) Possesses sound interpersonal and communication skills. (g) Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform are the following: (i) licensed operation of all appropriate materials handling equipment e.g. All types of forklifts (ii) use of tools and equipment within the warehouse (basic non-trades maintenance); and (iii) computer terminal operation at a level higher than that of an employee at Storeworker grade 2 (eg. Run and action reports, raise and maintain DR’s/MR’s/EME fixes.). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS/ LEVEL OF AUTHORITY Support DWDSS contract from a site operational warehouse perspective Attend site meetings as required Committed to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to WHS standards PRE-REQUISITES: To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have: Knowledge/Experience Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or similar operational environment is desirable, though not essential for this entry-level position Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for (and maintain) an Australian AGSVA Defence Security Clearance Technical/Professional Skills required Safety Orientation: Committed to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to WHS standards Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to the success of the warehouse operation Time Management: Efficiently managing workload and meeting deadlines in a time-sensitive environment Attention to Detail: Consistently ensuring accuracy in all aspects of stock management, order fulfillment, and reporting The role involves manual handling, lifting, and carrying of materials, so physical fitness is necessary to meet the demands of the job Qualifications – Education and/or professional Valid forklift license (if required), or willingness to obtain one.
