The role As the Systems and Platform Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing the Department into a high‑performing and innovative organisation. You will support the design, implementation, operational support, and life‑cycle management of the Department’s business platforms and ICT foundation systems across both on‑premise and cloud environments. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of a stable, scalable, optimised, resilient, well‑documented, and sustainable ICT architecture aligned with business objectives, while promoting infrastructure principles across ICT operations and project activities. Your strong knowledge and experience in administering Windows Server and Linux environments within a large, distributed on‑premise network integrated with significant cloud services will be essential to your success in this role. You will also be required to bring considerable experience in infrastructure scripting and automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash. In addition, you will have to demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, including the use of pipelines, DevOps practices, GitHub, and AzureCLI. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills will further support your effectiveness within the team.
