In this role, you'll contribute to building better reporting tools and dashboards that help our finance team work more efficiently. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for building the data and reporting foundation that will enable the team to become exceptional business partners, by reducing hours spent on data controllership and reporting. the Senior Finance Data Analyst will play a key role in transitioning our finance reporting to best in class through automation, centralized reporting, and integration with worldwide AI and automation initiatives. The successful candidate will combine strong business intelligence and data engineering capabilities with retail or commercial finance expertise. Key job responsibilities Design and implement reporting automation pipelines that establish reliable, scalable solutions for retail finance reporting across P&L, controllership, deals management, and business commentary Drive adoption of standardized finance reporting and business intelligence tools across the retail finance function by identifying and implementing best practices from Amazon marketplaces worldwide Partner with worldwide project teams to integrate AI and machine learning tools that enhance financial analysis, forecasting accuracy, and decision-making speed Own data governance practices and maintain data quality standards for AU Retail Finance profitability reporting, conducting comprehensive analysis of reporting systems to identify gaps and improvement opportunities Develop analytical tools, dashboards, and processes that provide actionable insights on pricing, promotions, inventory, and vendor performance to support commercial decision-making Translate complex data requirements into technical solutions and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Basic Qualifications - 5 years of experience in finance, business intelligence, or data analytics roles - Advanced SQL skills for data mining, transformation, and business intelligence Proven experience developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, PowerBI, or QuickSight - Demonstrated experience in creating process improvements through automation and analysis - Experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making - Strong track record of identifying data quality issues, determining root causes, and implementing solutions - Ability to work independently on complex problems while managing multiple stakeholder priorities Preferred Qualifications - MBA, CPA, or CA qualification - Experience with cube engine tools (e.g., TM1, Cognos, Essbase) and data warehouse concepts - Proficiency with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and automation - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards) Knowledge of AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda) and cloud-based analytics platforms - Experience leading cross-functional projects involving finance, IT, and business stakeholders - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management frameworks - Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth retail or e-commerce environments - 3 years of retail, commercial, or product finance experience with exposure to P&L management, vendor negotiations, pricing, or inventory management Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
