Spent years in the commercial team of a major builder watching the developer query every claim? Here's your chance to be the one asking the questions. Our client is a leading Perth-based property developer with a privately funded portfolio of premium residential and mixed-use projects across multiple locations. With major projects in active construction and more approaching commencement, they need a commercially sharp contracts professional to manage the contractual and commercial delivery of their growing portfolio — from the developer's side of the table. Why This Role Competitive salary of $180,000–$200,000 super (flexible depending on seniority) Portfolio-level responsibility — you'll manage commercial outcomes across multiple significant projects, not just one Long-term security — a privately funded business with a strong, sustained pipeline of work Direct access to leadership — your commercial advice will be heard and acted on Great team culture — a genuinely collaborative environment that values sharp thinking and good people What You'll Do You'll manage the contractual interface between the developer and its head contractors, subcontractors, and consultants. That means contract negotiation and administration, monthly progress claim assessment, variation management, EOT evaluation, and close-out — all with the goal of protecting the company's commercial position while maintaining constructive relationships with the project delivery partners. What We're Looking For 7–10 years in contracts administration in building and construction, with experience on large-scale residential, commercial or mixed-use projects Ideally, you've come from the commercial team of a Tier 1 contractor — you know how major builders price, how they claim, and where the commercial risk sits Solid knowledge of standard form contracts (AS 4000, AS 2124, AS 4902) Comfortable with progress claim assessment, variation negotiation, and EOT analysis Understanding of WA construction legislation, including the Construction Contracts Act 2004 Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related field Detail-oriented, process-driven, and confident in your commercial judgement Interested? Reach out for an initial chat — I can walk you through the company, the project portfolio, and the scope of the role in more detail. Renee Bengston 0432 496 496 or rbengston@goughrecruitment.com.au.
