This is a Charge Up Operator role with Westfill Pty Ltd based in WA, AU Westfill Pty Ltd Role Seniority - mid level More about the Charge Up Operator role at Westfill Pty Ltd We're entering a significant phase of expansion and are seeking Charge Up Operators to join our FIFO team in WA! What You'll Do Safely transport, handle, and store explosives and detonators in accordance with legal regulations and site-specific procedures. Charge development headings and other work areas with explosives following drill patterns and blasting plans. Inspect blast holes to ensure correct depth (no collapsed holes), alignment, and cleanliness before charging. Connect and test detonator circuits, including electronic, non-electric, or electric firing systems. Ensure proper stemming of charged holes for blast containment and effectiveness. Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections to verify area security and blast outcomes. Maintain accurate records of explosives used, blast reports, and any incidents. Operate LV and charge-up equipment safely (Normet or IT with charge basket) in underground conditions. What you'll need: Development charge up ticket or certificate relevant to the jurisdiction (e.g., Shot Firers). Minimum 2 years of experience in underground charge up role, with experience in service crew and nipper. Valid manual driver’s license and ability to operate underground vehicles with relevant RPLs. Strong knowledge of underground mining regulations, procedures and explosives handling.
