Working under the direction of the Head of Department - Health and Physical Education, the Sports Coach, Volleyball Program is responsible for the effective operation of the School's High Performance Volleyball Program. This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.26FTE), 20 hours per fortnight. About The Role The role focuses on student development, coach leadership, program administration, and community engagement, ensuring alignment with the school's strategic agenda and Education Queensland priorities. You will help maintain the program's reputation for excellence, inclusion, and high performance across district, regional, state and national competitions Key Role Accountabilities Alignment with School Vision and Strategy Support and promote the vision, values, and strategic priorities of Holland Park State High School Contribute to a positive school culture that values equity, excellence, wellbeing, and student achievement Uphold Education Queensland policies, including Student Protection, Child Safe Standards, and Duty of Care Actively support school improvement priorities, particularly those related to engagement, attendance, and student pathways through sport Volleyball Program Leadership Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Holland Park SHS High Performance Volleyball Program across all year levels Promote volleyball participation within the school, encouraging broad student engagement while supporting elite pathways Establish and maintain program philosophy, coaching standards, and athlete expectations consistent with school values Oversee preparation, training, and competition participation for all school representative teams, including AVSC, QVSC and other local competitions Coordinate evening, weekend, and holiday training or competitions as required Prepare students and teams for competition through structured training programs across the year Coach Leadership and Workforce Management Source, induct, roster, and support volleyball coaches, officials, and support staff Provide mentoring and professional support to new and developing coaches Ensure coaches adhere to school policies, child safety standards, and program expectations Collect and submit coach timesheets and required documentation for payroll processing Administration and Operations Manage all administrative aspects of the Volleyball Program, including: Competition and event registrations Scheduling and coordination of training Transport and logistics for competitions Team lists, eligibility, and parental consent documentation Ensure all risk assessments, event approvals, and medical documentation are completed prior to participation Implement and maintain injury management, medical, and emergency procedures Maintain accurate records of student participation, performance, and achievements in school databases and publications Provide regular reports to the HOD and school leadership on schedules, participation, results, and program outcomes Student Development and Wellbeing Monitor and Support student-athlete performance, wellbeing, and engagement year-round Promote leadership, teamwork, resilience, and positive behaviours through sport Communicate program expectations, training requirements, and codes of conduct Organise pre-season meetings and info sessions for students, parents, and coaches Community and Partnerships Strengthen connections with clubs, associations, and pathway providers Promote the Volleyball Program within the school and community Contribute to the sustainability and growth of the program through collaboration and innovation Weekly Roles 2 Training session per week Min visit 2 additional training sessions per week 1 weekly newsletter (training highlights /player profiles, upcoming tournaments etc General Parent/team correspondence Admin Prep for upcoming tournaments/uniforms /registration etc Scheduling/coach correspondence Weekly meeting with HOD Interested?
