In operation since 1987, every Jardan piece is designed, crafted and assembled at our Production site in Melbourne, retaining skills whilst focusing on a premium made to order process bound by sustainability and quality. What we are looking for : We are hiring Leading Hands across three keys areas within our Factory including, Polishing, Upholstery and Machining. As a Leading Hand in our Factory you’ll guide and inspire your team to deliver exceptional craftsmanship and finish quality. You’ll play a hands-on role and coordinate daily operations, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a positive, productive environment where safety, quality, and teamwork thrive. Reporting to the Factory Manager, the key responsibilities for a Leading Hand include: Lead, motivate, and support your team to achieve production targets and uphold quality standards. Plan and coordinate daily workloads, ensuring smooth workflow and task allocation across the team. Ensure all staff follow company policies, safety protocols, and housekeeping requirements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability within the department. Communicate effectively with production and management teams to meet deadlines and resolve challenges. Leading Hand – Polishing Additional to the above, you will be on the tools using 2Pac finishes, mixing and applying stains, sanding and cutting back timber items. Leading Hand – Upholstery Additional to the above, you will fit pre-cut and sewn covers onto prepared furniture frames, including sofas, armchairs, ottomans, and other upholstered pieces.
