As the Principal Enterprise Architect - Data & Knowledge, you will design and lead the modern data and knowledge architecture underpinning TechnologyOne's Data & AI Platform. You will establish the platform's unified data models, semantic foundations, vector-based retrieval pipelines, and industry-ready ontologies - enabling trusted, context-aware, AI-led operations across all products. What you'll be doing… 1. Lead the Data Foundation Architecture Architect modern lakehouse and data-fabric patterns using Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir, and AWS native services. Define unified metadata, lineage, quality, and interoperability frameworks. Design reusable data products for internal teams, customers, and marketplace developers. Drive scalable ingestion for structured, unstructured, streaming, and synthetic data. Ensure strong data management and governance aligned to platform standards. 2. Build the Enterprise Knowledge & Context Layer Design semantic models, ontologies, and canonical entities used across domains. Develop and maintain knowledge graphs (e.g., Neo4j, AWS Neptune). Lead architecture for vector stores, RAG pipelines, embeddings, and chunking strategies (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, ES vector). Create the semantic and contextual grounding needed for AI assistants, agents, and analytics. 3. Enable AI, Agents & Intelligent Workflows Integrate data and knowledge layers into AI orchestration, tool use, memory, and agent frameworks. Collaborate with AI engineering on LLM/SLM switchboards, retrieval, grounding, and evaluation. Support development of cross-module intelligent workflows for Finance, HR, Asset, Student, and platform-level agents. Ensure reliability, observability, and explainability of AI features through strong context and data governance. 4. Governance, Quality & Trust by Design Embed policy, lineage, and model/data governance across pipelines. Implement standards for accuracy, explainability, auditability, and risk controls. Partner with compliance and product teams to ensure platform-wide data and AI trust. 5. Leadership, Influence & Technical Excellence Mentor engineers, data scientists, and architects. Set technical direction, patterns, and reference architectures. Work with product and industry teams to define workflow-aligned ontologies and data/knowledge products. Champion modern data engineering, semantic modelling, and AI-driven design across the organisation. Your Talents… Deep practitioner experience with modern data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir, Lakehouse, data fabric patterns. Hands-on technical expertise with metadata, governance, lineage, and data quality systems. Strong architecture experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, semantic models. Practical experience designing vector search, embeddings, chunking, RAG pipelines. Excellent understanding of cloud-native services, especially AWS (Redshift, Glue, Neptune, Sagemaker, Step Functions, Lambda, Bedrock/Anthropic models). Experience working with or building agentic AI systems, retrieval grounding, or multi-agent orchestration. Ability to translate complex architectures into clear platform roadmaps.
