The role The Business Development Associate supports the growth of Acenda Life’s retirement income solutions by driving adviser engagement, pipeline progression, and sales execution support. The role focuses on converting activity into outcomes by assisting advisers through the advice and implementation process, supporting the Business Development Managers and ensuring opportunities progress efficiently from enquiry through to banked business. This is a commercial, execution-focused role suited to someone building deep capability in retirement income distribution and adviser engagement. Your responsibilities will include: Support retirement income sales delivery, contributing to premium, policy, and activity targets by progressing opportunities through the sales funnel. Own and actively manage the maturing annuity pipeline, engaging advisers ahead of maturity dates to support retention, reinvestment, and continuity of client income solutions. Manage and progress pipeline opportunities, including follow‑ups, SOA tracking, documentation coordination, and conversion support through to banked business. Partner closely with BDMs and Retirement Income Leads, preparing for adviser meetings, following up actions, and ensuring momentum is maintained post‑engagement. Engage directly with advisers, responding to enquiries, supporting quote activity, and assisting advisers to navigate implementation requirements. About you You have experience in sales support, adviser services, or adviser call‑centre environments within wealth management, retirement, insurance, or financial services. You’re highly organised, commercially minded, and comfortable managing multiple enquiries and opportunities while maintaining strong follow‑through and attention to detail. You’re a confident communicator who enjoys engaging advisers via phone, email, and virtual meetings, and you take a disciplined approach to CRM and pipeline management. You are RG146 compliant for retirement and investment products, or willing to obtain. Exposure to retirement income products (such as annuities, pensions, or income strategies) and tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, or a related field will be highly regarded.
