Play a key role in the delivery of conservation projects across our region Make a real difference to an organisation dedicated to providing exceptional public services Fixed term, full time role with flexible working options available About the role In tis role, you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of on-ground conservation activities, including pest plant and animal management, threatened species and ecological process management, fire ecology, and environmental water and wetland management. It provides practical advice and support to Area Ranger Teams to ensure activities are completed safely, effectively, and to agreed standards. The Conservation Officer assists with the coordination and monitoring of contracts and service providers and contributes to reporting and evaluation of conservation program outcomes, including work undertaken by contractors and field-based teams. The role provides input to regional conservation planning and operational processes, reflecting practical knowledge of local conditions and priorities. We're looking for someone with: Experience supporting the delivery of conservation or natural resource management programs within operational or multi-stakeholder environments Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, conservation, land management, or a related discipline are desirable Practical knowledge of conservation program delivery, including pest plant and animal management, threatened species management, ecological processes, and fire ecology Understanding of operational delivery in public land management, including basic awareness of contract management and compliance requirements Your application will need to include: A current resume A cover letter Application closing date: Sunday 29 March 2026 Sound like you?
