About the Position: Our client is looking for an Environment & Planning Lawyer (3–6 PAE) to join our clients' team in Brisbane as part of an integrated Environment & Planning practice within a broader Commercial Real Estate group. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build deep expertise across a blend of advisory, transactional and strategic litigation work. You’ll be exposed to matters that directly support Australia’s energy and infrastructure pipeline, including: Planning and environmental approvals for wind, solar, pumped hydro and transmission projects Due diligence and risk allocation on acquisitions, disposals, leasing and project development Advice on contaminated land , remediation frameworks and environmental incident response Regulatory strategy, negotiations with regulators and stakeholder engagement Climate risk and sustainability issues (including reporting risk and “greenwashing” considerations) Environmental markets exposure (e.g., carbon-related arrangements and emerging schemes) Disputes work including judicial review/merits review style matters, enforcement and prosecutions (where relevant) You’ll be trusted with meaningful responsibility, supported by senior practitioners, and encouraged to develop a market profile through client contact and thought leadership. Key Requirements: 3–6 years’ PAE in environment and planning , major projects, or related regulatory practice Experience with approvals pathways, conditions compliance, and regulator negotiations Strong drafting skills (advices, submissions, contract mark-ups and correspondence) Confident communication style with clients and stakeholders Commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing deadlines Interest in the energy transition, infrastructure and complex developments Team-first approach, with a genuine desire to keep learning and step up On Offer: Our client offers a role that can accelerate your career in a high-calibre team, with exposure to matters that make the news and reshape the market.
