High-impact role supporting audit, compliance and IT policy outcomes in government Competitive rate of $71.25/hr Super in a Melbourne CBD location Collaborative, stakeholder-focused role without hands-on audit delivery IT Audit & Compliance Coordinator Government Sector | Contract Opportunity Melbourne CBD | $71.25/hr Super Period: 01 January 2026 – 30 June 2026 Hudson is partnering with a government organisation to recruit an experienced IT Audit & Compliance Coordinator to support audit, compliance and policy management activities within the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong audit coordination and policy capability who enjoys working across stakeholders to ensure audit recommendations and policy commitments are delivered effectively. Importantly, this position does not conduct audits, but plays a critical role in supporting audit and compliance processes and driving outcomes. About the role Reporting into IMTD, you will act as a key liaison between internal teams, Internal Audit and central policy areas. You will support the development of briefs and reports, track and coordinate audit recommendations, and assist with the review, maintenance and implementation of IT policies and procedures. Key responsibilities Assist in the preparation and drafting of audit and policy briefs and reports Coordinate and monitor the completion of audit recommendations and policy commitments within agreed timeframes Review Internal Audit reports, providing feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy and completeness Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with audit requirements and outcomes Coordinate meetings and communications across multiple stakeholder groups Maintain and update documentation relating to audit findings, recommendations and compliance actions Provide regular status updates to management on audit and policy progress Support the development, review and implementation of IT policies and procedures Ensure IT policies remain current with legislative requirements, standards and business needs About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: Proven experience in IT audit coordination, compliance, IT policy or a similar role A strong understanding of audit and policy processes (government experience desirable but not essential) Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality briefs and reports Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously Confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner Why apply?
