Fresh abalone is received at the company’s purpose-built processing facility in Arundel, Gold Coast, where it undergoes strict handling and processing procedures. The abalone is cleaned, graded, and sorted before being transformed into either canned abalone or dried abalone products, ensuring food safety, stable quality, and reliable shelf-life performance. Position Overview This position primarily supports the Fisheries Abalone World factory by building and delivering data-driven financial insights, conducting modelling analyses, and providing comprehensive financial planning and analysis. It plays a vital role in driving and improving financial performance across the business. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Develop and implement financial strategies to enhance AWGC’s financial performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term growth plans. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimising financial stability. Lead initiatives to improve business processes, financial efficiency, and operational effectiveness through data analysis and best practice recommendations. Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations, translating complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise resource allocation, budgeting, and financial forecasting. Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and economic forecasts, advising on their potential impact on business performance. Analyse factory office operations, including supplier management and logistics workflows, to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. Review and map end‑to‑end client order fulfilment and packing processes, develop optimised procedures and KPIs, and provide guidance to the factory team to improve accuracy, timeliness and overall service performance. Evaluate existing financial procedures (including AMS payment processes), identify control and efficiency gaps, and design improved policies and standard operating procedures to support compliant and efficient operations. Knowledge/Skills Growing knowledge of organisation's Accounting procedures related to work performed Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures minimum 1 year experience on similar position Strong administrative and procedural skills Mandarin speaking is highly preferred.
