Grounds Person - Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions brings the Adelaide Oval team and its unparalleled expertise and high-quality workmanship to sporting grounds, clubs and community spaces across South Australia and beyond. The Turf Solutions Grounds Person will assist in providing services such as renovations, maintenance, turf consultations, construction & reconstruction, pitch curation & maintenance and drop-in pitch design & construction to a range of sporting venues and green spaces locally and internationally. This position is not based at Adelaide Oval. Travel will be required. What you'll be working on Turf Renovations including weed removal, dethatching, aerating and fertilising. Maintenance Programs including: Working with clients to implement regular maintenance programs. Following the management programs for pesticides, fertilisers and other chemicals. Maintaining, controlling and growing turf. Maintaining the turf sports surfaces standards, which include: Cricket pitch blocks and ovals. Practice cricket pitches. Football and other winter sport surfaces. All other turf and landscaping. Meeting with clients for turf consultations and providing recommendations for work required within the approved budget and timeframes. Construction & Reconstruction Redesign and construction, including implementing drainage, irrigation and laying of turf. Replacing, cutting, edging and spraying of turf on the pitch blocks as required. Working with Managers to achieve program objectives. Assisting with Adelaide Oval match day and events work programs when required. Cutting, whipper snipping, rolling, fertilizing, and top dressing of sites and surrounding grounds. What you'll bring Experience in all aspects of irrigation and horticulture maintenance. The ability to work within specified timeframes and adhere to defined deadlines, while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Experience operating a range of mowers, tractors and specialised turf plant equipment and machinery. Experience in preparing turf fields for cricket and football. Understanding of the turf industry and programs. The ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment. The ability to liaise with a wide range of people, including staff, contractors and clients. A flexible and proactive approach. What you need for this role A current driver’s licence is required. A current HR driver’s licence or willingness to obtain. Relevant trade qualifications or higher, including Certificate III in Horticulture or Sports Turf Management. Experience in a similar role. Working With Children Check (to be attained within the first two months of commencement) Ability to use computer systems such as Microsoft Office and app-based systems. International travel may be required and would require a valid passport.
