Primary objective Build the capacity of remote Primary Health Care (PHC) services to provide comprehensive Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus (SHBBV) programs within communities that meets the needs of young Indigenous people. Context statement Must hold a current NT driver's licence and 4WD training course certificate or the ability to obtain, willingness and ability to travel by air and 4WD to remote communities and capacity to reside at times in remote communities for up to a week. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Accountable for providing sound professional advice and for assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of comprehensive client care and/or case management within the speciality area. 2. Applies specialist knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities within a defined practice area in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as with families, groups and communities 3. Provides specialist advice, recommendations and education to individuals and groups including clients and staff via one to one, community groups or programs 4. Contribute to the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators. 5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. 6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary work practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance with NT Health values. Selection criteria Essential 1. Relevant qualifications in Psychology and/or Social Work that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Professional Association, and registration for practice with the relevant Health Profession Board of Australia. 2. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with communities of diverse cultural and social backgrounds. 3. Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes. 4. Demonstrates well-developed decision-making, including problem identification and solution, analysis and interpretation of data, and implementation of innovative and effective strategies to achieve positive health outcomes. 5. Proven ability to implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities. Desirable 1.
