The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course. Operating in the Barkly Region, the Mental Health Team provides specialist mental health services to clients across the Barkly Region, including case management, assessments and therapeutic interventions. As a Nursing Clinical Specialist, Mental Health your primary responsibility is to undertaking case management, conduct mental health assessments and provide therapeutic interventions with individuals, families and communities. You will participate in the development of contemporary models of care, including new service models in response to NT Health and national mental health reforms. You will also be accountable for providing sound professional advice and education on mental health issues to clients and family members. To be successful, you will be an accomplished MH Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with demonstrated recent clinical experience in mental health assessment, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, treatment and rehabilitation methods in Mental Health Nursing is essential.
