The Why As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Ubank, your purpose is to architect, enhance, and sustain the platforms that power our digital banking experience. You’ll take ownership of critical infrastructure, uplift engineering maturity, and ensure the systems used by millions of Australians remain stable, secure, and fast. This role is central to empowering our engineering teams with the tools, pipelines, and platforms they need to deliver exceptional customer‑facing features with confidence and velocity. Key Responsibilities Designing, writing, maintaining, and testing high‑quality Go and Python code to support and evolve our infrastructure platform. Leading the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Driving platform reliability through patching, upgrading, and proactively optimising our cloud environments. Partnering with engineering squads to enhance the speed, resilience, and observability of CI/CD pipelines. Overseeing safe, repeatable deployments of well‑tested changes into production. Taking a leadership role in production support, incident response, and post‑incident remediation. Championing DevOps best practices across reliability, automation, performance, and security. Your Experience 5 years as a DevOps, Platform, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineer. Demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure and networking (AWS or Microsoft Azure). Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling, including Terraform IaC. Strong understanding of software testing, secure-by-design principles, and best‑practice security frameworks (e.g., OWASP). Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes. Proven ability to influence engineering culture, mentor other engineers, and lead technical initiatives. Why Ubank?
