The team is led by an experienced and highly regarded Head of Class Actions, and assisted by a dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates and other legal professionals. The Opportunity At Shine, we champion better justice for our clients. And as a permanent, full-time legal liaison assistant to the head of class actions , that starts with you. While our Head of Class Actions is based in Sydney CBD, we are open to our successful candidate working from either our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne offices. Reporting to the head of class actions, you will support and work closely with them, providing support and liaising with the broader class actions legal team and Shine’s business services teams (e.g. finance, people & culture, IT, marketing, etc.). You will facilitate information flow across the teams that support class actions at Shine, and across our class actions teams based in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. You will assist the head of class actions to directly manage and report on team member performance across the class actions practice, and identify areas for improvement to assist with growing the diverse class actions practice. With a strong work ethic, you’ll take initiative, prioritise effectively, and help ensure we meet performance targets and deliver in full and on time by: Coordinating and contributing to a variety of projects; Assisting with identifying and managing any team member performance, including reviewing internal performance reporting and time sheets; Assisting with preparing reports, business papers, presentations, autonomously identifying priorities, ensuring the high quality completion of tasks; Maintaining key class actions reports such as case plans, including minute-taking in internal class actions meetings, circulating completed minutes and following up of action items; Coordinating administration teams in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Assisting with the preparation of agendas and diarising team meetings. Assisting with organising training sessions and other work-related events, including travel and accommodation bookings for attendees as required. Advising the head of class actions of matters requiring immediate personal attention, preparing relevant documentation as required. Handling confidential information, and supporting change management activities with discretion and professionalism. What you’ll bring Previous experience in a similar administrative operations management role is desirable. Previous experience in professional services industry essential (e.g. Law, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, etc.) Demonstrated experience supporting a busy professional in a fast-paced corporate environment. Strong analytical skills to review and interpret financial, legal and performance reporting. Proven project management skills essential. Accurate typing skills with intermediate Word & Excel skills. A keen eye for detail in your document management and collation skills, including minute taking experience. You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing.
