Role OverviewThe Payroll Officer will provide critical support to a high-performing payroll function during a period of leave coverage. This role will manage payroll processes across multiple entities with approximately 400 employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments within a complex payroll environment.This is an initial 6-week contract with the potential for extension, ideal for a payroll professional who can quickly step in and add value. About the PersonYou are a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can confidently manage complex payroll requirements. With prior experience in the construction or civil industry, you understand the nuances of timesheets, overtime, and allowances, and can communicate effectively with both site-based and corporate employees. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the end-to-end payroll process across multiple businesses.Process fortnightly payroll for a workforce of approximately 400 employees.Manage a mix of timesheet and salaried staff, including overtime and allowances.Respond to payroll enquiries with professionalism and accuracy.Work closely with the Project Lead to maintain payroll continuity and compliance.Ensure data integrity within payroll systems. Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceProven payroll experience within the construction or civil industry is essential.Experience managing complex payroll environments.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.High attention to detail with excellent organisational abilities.Experience using Employment Hero is advantageous.Ability to quickly adapt and work autonomously when needed.
