Veterans First Consulting is seeking a motivated Marketing Content Specialist to join our remote team. In this role, you’ll support current and ex-serving military members with their DVA claims, ensuring they receive the fair and accurate compensation they deserve. Role Purpose The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for developing engaging, accurate and values-aligned content that communicates our expertise and commitment to veterans. This role requires a strong understanding of regulated, high-trust environments and the ability to translate complex information—often legal, medical and policy‑driven—into clear, simple language for current and former Defence members. The Content Specialist plays a critical role in supporting business growth through exceptionally written content across multiple channels, as well as strengthening the organisation’s reputation as a credible and ethical service provider. Key Responsibilities Plan and write engaging content for digital and print channels, including webpages, paid ads, social media posts, educational resources, brochures, signage, and other collateral as needed. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and fact-check against official sources to ensure that all content is accurate, respectful, and provides empathetic support to veterans. Collaborate closely with our graphic designer to ensure all content is thoughtfully tailored to veterans and aligned to our brand guidelines and voice. Contribute to thought leadership pieces and evidence-informed materials. Monitor content performance and adjust communications to ensure ongoing engagement, relevance and compliance. Role Requirements: Experience and Skills (all essential unless otherwise specified) · Demonstrated experience and portfolio of work in a marketing or communications role, in one or more of the following environments: o Care services, allied health, or medical o Consulting, legal, or other professional services o Veteran services, veteran communities, or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) · Exceptional editorial skills with an eagle eye for detail and a creative mind for writing compelling copy. · Strong ability to write and edit with an authentic human factor, creating content that stands out among a sea of carbon copy AI text. · A natural ability to talk about sensitive topics in an empathetic, respectful and trauma-informed way. · Thought leadership and strategic planning skills with minimal direction required. · A genuine love of writing coupled with a willingness to accept constructive feedback without an ego. · Proven ability in working with and simplifying complex, technical, or regulated subject matter. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively within the Marketing team and cross-functionally where needed. · Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines. · Understanding of DVA, veteran support systems, life after service for Defence members, or the ability to quickly learn about the sector. (Desirable criterion) Educational Background & Qualifications · Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or a related field are desirable · Equivalent professional experience in a similar environment will be highly regarded
