The opportunity We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Executive to lead the development and delivery of organisational-wide communications that support our strategic priorities and strengthen our reputation. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Stakeholder Relations, you’ll work under broad direction to shape narrative frameworks and messaging and deliver integrated campaigns across internal and external channels. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery within a small, collaborative team, meaning you’ll have autonomy while staying connected to the work that you do. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced communications professional who is proactive, forward-thinking, and thrives in both shaping and executing strategy. This a full-time opportunity on a two year fixed-term contract. The role will be responsible for: Developing and implementing strategic, organisation-wide communications plans aligned to organisational priorities. Establishing and maintaining narrative frameworks, key messages and tone of voice guidelines to ensure consistency across all communications. Leading proactive communications planning across content, digital channels campaigns and events. Providing strategic communications advice to the Executive Team under broad direction, including guidance on messaging and stakeholder engagement. Leading the development and delivery of integrated content, digital and event activity across website, social media, newsletters, campaigns and events to drive awareness and engagement. Acting as senior writer and editor for communications materials including digital content, publications, presentations, speeches and media releases. Overseeing content libraries and templates to ensure quality and consistency. Leading internal communications in consultation with the Executive Team, to keep staff informed, engaged and aligned with organisational priorities and messaging. Supporting organisational change initiatives through clear, timely communications. Managing media relations as part of broader communications strategy, including media releases, enquiries, key messages, fact sheets and monitoring. Ensuring media activity aligns with organisational priorities and agreed messaging. Working collaboratively across Screenwest teams to identify communication needs, risks and opportunities, and deliver practical solutions. Building and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, broadcasters, distributors and screen industry practitioners. Monitoring and evaluating communications effectiveness across all channels using data and insights to inform decision-making and improvement. Preparing performance reports and recommendations for the Executive Team. The right person will be able to demonstrate/have experience with: Significant experience in strategic, corporate, or organisational communications at a mid to senior level. Experience contributing to and delivering organisation-wide communications strategies in multi-stakeholder environments. Demonstrated experience delivering integrated, multi-channel communications including digital campaigns and internal communications. Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adjust style and tone for audience. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. Proactive, organised, and solutions-oriented. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Degree qualifications in relevant discipline are desirable but not essential. Experience in the Arts/Screen sector and knowledge of WA screen funding practices is a plus!
