About Us: Quarry & Mining Manufacture (QMM), a subsidiary of Tasmea Limited, delivers expert design, manufacture, fabrication, and maintenance services to sectors including construction materials (concrete, quarrying, cement, asphalt), mining, minerals, infrastructure, recycling, and metal refining. The Opportunity: We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our growing team on a full-time and/or casual basis. These roles are primarily site-based, with a small component of workshop work, with a strong focus on quarry, crusher, and conveyor systems. About the Role: As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fixed plant equipment across quarrying and materials handling operations. Your focus will be on ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficient operation across a range of mechanical systems including crushers, conveyors, screens, and related plant. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret engineering drawings • Conduct fault finding, inspections, and preventative maintenance • Install, maintain and repair fixed plant equipment (crushers, conveyors, screens, etc.) • Perform component replacements, mechanical rebuilds, and alignments • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture • Work closely with supervisors to meet project deadlines and production targets What You’ll Need: • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent) • Proven experience in general welding processes • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately • Confined Space & Working at Heights (within 2 years) or willingness to obtain • EWP, Scissor Lift, and Boom Lift tickets (desirable) • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices Note: All applicants must pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
