All staff are required to participate in ongoing cultural safety training Summary: The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to manage a portfolio of accreditation and monitoring activities for specialist medical education providers and their programs. This role plays a key part in upholding AMC standards, ensuring high‑quality assessment processes, and supporting continuous improvement across the specialist education sector.As the Manager, Specialist Education Accreditation, you will lead the delivery of accreditation and monitoring programs, provide expert analysis and advice to AMC committees, and oversee governance processes for the Specialist Education Accreditation Committee and Progress Monitoring Subcommittee. You will represent the AMC in accreditation activities, guide education providers through assessment processes, and contribute to the implementation of revised accreditation standards and model procedures. With responsibility for a small team, you will foster a positive, high‑performing culture, manage workloads and development, and ensure alignment with AMC values, including cultural safety. The role also requires strong stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and Māori partners, and representing the AMC at key sector events.This is an opportunity for a skilled accreditation, governance, or education quality professional to influence national standards, lead meaningful sector engagement, and contribute to the advancement of specialist medical education in Australia. Key Responsibilities Lead accreditation and monitoring activities for specialist medical education programs, ensuring consistent application of AMC standards and policies. Manage the annual accreditation work program, including timelines, risks, budgets, and cross‑team coordination. Provide expert advice and high‑quality analysis to AMC committees, governance groups, assessors, and reviewers. Oversee committee operations for SEAC and the Progress Monitoring Subcommittee, including agendas, reporting, and follow‑up. Represent the AMC in accreditation visits, monitoring activities, and sector engagements, including training assessors and providers. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and Māori partners. Lead and develop a small team, fostering a positive culture, supporting wellbeing, and managing performance. Ensure accurate record‑keeping, data integrity, and continuous improvement of accreditation processes and documentation. Qualifications/Experience: Minimum one to two years of experience relevant to key result areas (required) Roles in accreditation, committee, policy or regulation (desirable) Broad experience in stakeholder management in health or education (desirable) Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure effective and collegial stakeholder relationships. Anticipates hurdles/risks in program or policy implementation to contribute to problem-solving. Proficient program management, time management skills and strong attention to detail (required). Accountable for the scope of their own work program and supports the wider team.
