About the Role This position requires liaising with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to develop and maintain State Emergency Service (SES) and Marine Rescue (MR) training products, prepare written reports, conduct training and assessments, facilitate consultation, and undertake projects as required. Provide or facilitate the provision of subject matter expertise advice relating to SES and MR related training or equipment development or implementation. Participate in or maintain oversight in the delivery of trial courses delivered in developing SES/MR training products. Achieve and maintain currency as a Trainer Assessor in SES/MR Hazard Management Agency roles. Provide advice on the veracity and priority of SES and MR Initiation or Improvement Requests. Work with others in Learning and Development to aid the progress of training product development, quality assurance and publication. Research and maintain an awareness of contemporary tactical techniques applicable to all SES and MR roles, including those used by other agencies nationally and worldwide. To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate the following key requirements: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, especially in liaising with volunteers, subject matter experts and stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated organisational skills with a proven ability to plan, coordinate and deliver projects. Employment Conditions and Additional Information DFES is an emergency services organisation, and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies. This position will be required to work regular weekends and evenings out of normal business hours (300 hours per annum – annualised hours conditions apply). Additional allowances may be applicable to this position. Required to be on call as part of the metropolitan duty roster.
